About the Pattern
The Fake Polo is knitted top down with folded edges and has a retro shape with a slim fit and longer sleeves. The connections along the shoulders and neck are kept simple and raw to give all the attention to the contrast stitch embroidery in the shape of a “fake” collar – hence the name Fake Polo. The shoulders are shaped with German short rows and the front and back are knitted back and forth with increases before connecting in the round. The body is a straight tube but creates a nice silhouette due to the low to zero positive ease. The sleeves are kept relatively wide at the armpit for a comfortable fit and made narrower towards the edge with decreases. Since arm circumference is very individual, the pattern presents the option of choosing to go up or down in sleeve size within the sleeve size range of the pattern. The length of the body is slightly cropped, but for all sizes there’s enough yarn for some extra rows if you prefer a bit more length. The pattern contains thorough descriptions, pictures and instructional videos on how to do the embroidery and the folded edges with an elastic bind-off. If you change your mind about the colour of your collar embroidery, the yarn can easily be switched by tying a knot and pulling the new yarn through.

The Fake Polo is intended to have a bit of a snug fit with narrow sleeves and neckline and an ease about zero to your bust measurement. If you prefer a tighter or looser fit you can go up or down a size.
If you are in between sizes, I recommend sizing up, but go with your personal preference for your body type. Ex. if you have a bust measurement of 95 cm I recommend knitting a size 4.
The Fake Polos in the pictures are a size 2 worn with bust measurement 86 cm and height 167cm.
